Our Story

Glen Edmunds, along with his wife Kim, started Kenya’s first advanced driving company in May 2005.

A Life-Changing Event

In 2004, a terrifying attempted car-jacking set the wheels in motion for Glen and Kim Edmunds. One evening as they returned home, five armed men followed them into their gated property.

Relying on his race-driving instincts, Glen spun their car to face the gate, giving them a vital head start just as the attackers pulled in behind them. With composure and skill, he sped away while their assailants opened fire. Though bullets flew, Glen and Kim escaped unharmed thanks only to his quick thinking and advanced driving ability.

The ordeal left a deep mark, especially on Kim, who felt unable to leave their home for a week afterward. That sense of vulnerability underscored a powerful realization: without the right skills, anyone could feel powerless in such a moment.

Turning Crisis into Action

Determined to help others avoid feeling helpless on the road, Glen took action. Using a friend’s connections, he enrolled in an elite Executive Protection and Anti-Kidnapping Program at the renowned Bondurant Performance Driving School in the United States, training originally reserved for CIA, FBI, and elite military units.

Armed with this world-class education, Glen returned to Kenya and founded the nation’s first advanced driving academy, dedicated to empowering people with life-saving counter-carjacking skills.

From Humble Beginnings to Premier Status

Glen and Kim’s vision started in a modest classroom at the back of a retail building. Word quickly spread about Glen’s groundbreaking security driving course, and soon enquiries poured in. Their first client was the British High Commission (FCO), and from there, demand skyrocketed.

As their reputation grew, so did their offerings. The curriculum expanded to serve those driving armoured vehicles or living and working in high-risk areas, and grew further to address the broader need for defensive driving courses, aiming to reduce Kenya’s alarmingly high road fatalities.

Building Kenya’s First Driver Training Facility

Before long, the company outgrew its initial space, moving twice before embarking on a new chapter: building Kenya’s first purpose-built driver training facility. On July 7, 2013, construction began—marking a transformative step in advanced driver education for the region.

Our journey began with a crisis, but it has evolved into a lasting legacy of safety, skill, and empowerment. We remain committed to delivering world-class driver training, driven by our passion to make a difference.

Thank you for being part of our journey. We look forward to continuing to serve our community and making a difference on the roads for many years to come.
