OUR STORY
n 2004, a life-changing event set the wheels in motion for Glen and Kim Edmunds. One evening, as they returned home, their lives were threatened by a terrifying attempted car-jacking. A gang of five armed men followed them into their gated property. Using his race-driving instincts, Glen maneuvered their car to face the gate, giving them a vital head start just as the attackers pulled in behind them. With composure and skill, Glen sped away—while their assailants opened fire. Though bullets flew, Glen and Kim escaped unharmed, thanks only to quick thinking and advanced driving ability.
The ordeal left a deep mark, especially on Kim, who felt unable to leave their home for a week afterwards. That sense of vulnerability underscored a powerful realization: without the right skills, anyone could feel powerless in such a moment. Determined to help others avoid feeling helpless on the road, Glen took action. Leveraging a friend’s connections, he enrolled in an elite Executive Protection/Anti-Kidnapping Program at the renowned Bondurant Performance Driving School in the United States—training originally reserved for CIA, FBI, and elite military units. Armed with this world-class training, Glen returned to Kenya and founded the nation’s first advanced driving academy—dedicated to empowering people with life-saving counter-carjacking skills.
Leading the Way in Advanced Driver Education
Since those early days, Glen has become one of the industry’s most highly-accredited instructors, holding certifications such as:
Highfield Level 3 Certificate in International Driving Instruction (UK)
Highfield Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (UK)
Extensive advanced instructor training from the Vehicle Dynamics Institute (USA)
Counter Terrorism Driving Course – U.S. Training Center (Blackwater USA)
Armoured Vehicle Advanced Security Driving Course – STOOF (Jordan)
From Humble Beginnings to Premier Status
Glen and Kim’s vision began in a modest classroom at the back of a retail building. Word spread quickly about Glen’s groundbreaking security driving course, and soon, enquiries poured in. Their very first client was the British High Commission (FCO), and from there, demand skyrocketed. As their reputation grew, so did their offerings. The curriculum expanded to serve those driving armoured vehicles or living and working in high-risk areas. It also grew to address the broader need for defensive driving courses, aiming to reduce Kenya’s alarmingly high road fatalities.
Building Kenya’s First Driver Training Facility
Before long, the company outgrew its initial space, moving twice before embarking on a new chapter—building Kenya’s first purpose-built driver training facility. On July 7, 2013, construction began, marking a transformative step in advanced driver education for the region.
