Train The Trainer Program

Glen Edmunds Advanced Driving Instructors have gone through rigorous driver training programs, to obtain both their Glen Edmunds Advanced Driving and International Advanced Driver accreditations (U.K. and U.S.A.). They also comply fully with Continuous Professional Development (CPD) protocols. They are assessed every year by an internationally accredited assessor.

There are those companies that offer Train the Trainer programs (ToT) for two weeks or less. From our experience we feel that this is very irresponsible. It is unfair to both the trainee and the students as the trainee doesn’t have the necessary experience to pass on the correct knowledge in such a short time frame.

Driver Training is about understanding vehicle dynamics, why the vehicle does what it does and in what conditions. It’s also knowing how to counter every day driving hazards in a correct and safe manner. Reactions have to become intuitive. Driver training has to be scientific, measurable and consistent. To become a professoinal driving instructor one has to receive “hands on” practical consistent training sessions with other accredited instructors and be scientifically evalutated continuously.

It takes a minimum of 6 months to bring one of our Glen Edmunds Advanced Driving instructors up to a minimum level. We then continuously mentor and assess them until we’re satisfied that he meets our stringent requirements. The whole process usually takes about 8 months and sometimes longer depending on the student. To become a qualified instructor with our credentials requires commitment, time, and experience.
