Weekly Security Tip
Carjackers prey on people that aren't paying attention! They look for drivers that are distracted such as those talking on their mobile phones, changing the CD player, or flicking between stations. Being aware of your surroundings at all times. This can save your life!
Basic Mechanics Tip
There are rubber bushes that keep metal from rubbing on metal in the suspesnion of both 2WD and 4WD vehicles. These are called Suspension Arm Bushes. They tend to wear and crack with age and can make the vehicle feel like it's "wandering all over the road." They should be checked every time your vehicle goes in for a general service.

Driving Courses Taught By African Experts |
Advanced Driver Training Programs in Africa
Glen Edmunds Performance Driving School (GEPDS), based in Nairobi, Kenya, is an advanced driving school that specializes in security driver training, defensive driver training, and 4WD defensive training in the Africa region. We are the only driving school in Kenya that offers this type and caliber of training.
Why Choose GEPDS for your driver training provider?
“Your driving instructor is the most important element in choosing a driving school. You can have the most elaborate training track, the newest training vehicles and the best training equipment, but if your driving instructor can’t communicate and get across the concepts you are trying to teach, all of the rest is worthless” – Glen Edmunds.
Our Driving Instructors Have a Deep Understanding of Africa, Its people, and the Challenges of Driving on African Roads.
- Our driving instructors are highly qualified professionals that are born and raised in Africa.
- Have
60 years combined training experience. The GEPDS driving instructors
understand, the harsh conditions and driving hazards associated with
African roads better than anyone.
- Fluent in both Kiswahili and English languages.
- 1:3 or 1:6, instructor to student ratio depending on the type of course. This ensures personalized attention to each student.
- We
believe in “behind the wheel with the instructor time!” Many defensive
driving schools offer theory only or a majority of time in the
classroom A certain amount of theory is important, but the only way
anyone can learn proper defensive/security driving techniques is by
spending time driving in a car with a professional instructor.
- Driver Training experience in conflict-affected regions throughout the continent.
- Successful International Driving Training using interpreters.

Committed to Improving the Driving Standards & Reducing Road Fatalities |
There are about 1.17 million deaths in the world, that are due to road accidents yearly. 75% of these deaths occur in developing countries although these countries only have 32% of the worlds’ motor vehicles!
There is no reason to send your staff and drivers overseas for security or defensive driver training! The driving hazards and conditions in Europe and America are nothing like what drivers will encounter in a developing area such as Africa. The instructors at GEPDS are African experts and our courses simulate challenges that drivers will face on a daily basis from road hazards to car-jackings. We also have our finger on the pulse with the latest crime statistics and tactics and can give up to date information on current trends and advice on how to counter these threats. Your organization will save money, plus give your staff more situation specific training).

Security Newsflash
Globe Cinema Roundabout, Nairobi
This area has always been notorious for thieves preying on people stuck in traffic. We don’t know exactly how they are doing it, but thieves are able to open car doors that are locked. There was a recent incident where someone was on the way to the airport and decided to use this route. Thieves came up to the car, unlocked the car doors and a stole a bag of jewelry from the back seat. We advise drivers to avoid this area altogether if possible, especially at night. However, If you do have to pass through this area, make sure that all valuables are out of sight and out of reach as most robberies are “snatch and grab” once the car doors are open.

Driving Tips
Look Far Ahead! Most drivers only look a few feet in front of their bonnet. It's crucial to scan far ahead in the distance in case early braking or evasive action is needed. It can also help you avoid potential security risks or even traffic jams.
